Cyberduck Examine App

Excellent outil

Not compatible with Mavericks?

Slow and frequent crash

I’ve been using this great FTP app for ages and always loved it. I bought the new version on the App Store because the previous version no longer worked as intendedsince I upgraded to Macos High Sierra. Cyberduck has never been so slow when I’m searching specific folders/files on my distant servers, in addition it crashes way too frequently. I do hope the next update will fix all those time wasting issues.

Was great until this last update, now crashes

Cant work for more than 5 mins without it crashing on my MacBook Air running MacOS High Sierra (10.13.3).

Buggy

This update fixed the connection issue. Glad to have it back. Better features and UI than fetch. (Bummed I purchased fetch in the meantime, but c’est la vie.)

It works great, Cyberduck is my preferred FTP solution.

I prefer using Cyberduck over any other FTP service, it works great and is simple to use. The Cyberduck team is quick to fix bugs when they are reported, thank you so much for fixing the connecting issues (codesign entitlements bug) so quickly! I needed to use another FTP solution while this bug was active, but I only needed to wait about a week before this was fixed.

SSH Broken with latest release

This application usually works very well, but there have also been issues. The ability to use SFTP via SSH/private key was broken with the 2.4 release. It is fixed now. Getting to support is to submit a ticket was very difficult. Support site is made for users buying directly and does not accommodate App Store buyers.

Unreliable and buggy

This used to be a great program. But now features break very often, the app crashes, or as of today wont even open.

Historically Reliable

Had not used this app in about a year but needed to recently. Sadly I found that it was unable to do the basic FTP connection. Each connect attempt returns network error. App had always remained reliable and easy to use in the past. update: Appears updates are being applied to the application that might have been causing me issues. Like I stated earlier, app was always reliable when I used it a year ago. In good faith, I am sure it will be again soon.

Latest Update Broke The Duck

No longer working after last update, can’t connect via the network… been working perfectly for years… had to revert back one version via Time Machine!

Version 6.3

I’ve used Cyberduck as my FTP app for many years but hadn’t used it in the last six months or so. Launching the old app failed, and I learned I needed to download the latest version from the App Store. I was disappointed to find that my “donation key” from an earlier donation did not provide me any credit on the price but, to be fair, the donation was made in 2011. So I ponied up the full price and re-installed. All my previous connection data was preserved, and the program works better than ever.

The trusty workduck

While I do not manage large or complex websites, I do use Cyberduck daily. For the most part, I use it to move files back and forth between Linux servers and my Mac, and to edit files sitting on other machines without having to consciously synchronize a local copy. I use most of the features, including bookmarks, file operations, dragging and dropping whole directories, etc. I also occasionally use the directory synchronization feature, which is straightforward but reasonably powerful. I hesitate to call any application bulletproof, but Cyberduck has lasted me through at least three Macs and many OS X upgrades (including High Sierra) without a hitch. The UI is easy to figure out and efficient, and most importantly, makes it clear that I’m accomplishing what I intend. (I’d like it even better if it behaved more like the Finder). Until today, I have taken Cyberduck for granted. But Ducky, today you get the review you have deserved all along.

App Won’t Open

Once I purchased Cyberduck, and it completed it’s download, I clicked on it from my launchpad in applications, Cyberduck appears on the dock for a second then disappears, it will not launch or allow me to open the app. I essentially paid $25 for a picture of a yellow rubber ducky to be seen in my launchpad applications, so there’s that.

Keeps crashing

I had it crash 3 times doing SFTP.

Please, refound needed

Hello! I coudn`t find any contact form on your web site. Probably, you intantinally make it as difficult as possible to report a bug. I couldn`t open a ticket also. I don`t feel like app works appropriately, or maybe just my user experience was bad. Please, I need a refound I want to try another options. P.S. It`s slow, connection was closed for no reason, and in order to accsees files I needed to restart in cople of times. I want to try another app. It doen`t worth its money. Thank you!

App Won’t Start

App crashes upon launch and keeps on re-opening with no way to kill it. I have to restart my computer to stop this madness. Had to download a build from the website and contact support to get a license key to acivate the software.

From free to $23

Used for years as free with zero issues, but man, $23 bucks… Good for you guys. Worked as expected, post installation. All passwords intact, etc.

Excellent and Easy to Use

It is one of those old reliable type applications. Used it since the days that it was shareware. Was happy to see it when it arrived in the app store. Even happy to rebuy it, because programmers need monetary support too! Can’t imagine setting up a website without it. It interacts easily with any apache server and all the text editing tools on my Mac.

Happy to pay!

I’ve used the free app for, I don’t know how long. Its always worked great, and I’m happy to pay you for this upgrade!

Frequently updated and works grea with Amazon S3

I use Cyberduck to create timed-expiration Amazon S3 download URLs for corporate software. It works great for this purpose, and it seems like it’s updated every 1-2 months. I haven’t really had any bugs or issues to report. This is a solid FTP client for Mac, and I’m surprised it doesn’t have at least four stars on average.

Don’t update, recent versions are full of bugs :(

I’ve used Cyberduck for years and have always been a big fan. The last several updates have intoduced numerous bugs and it crashes or freezes with connectivity issues all the time now. I never had any problems like this in the past. Hopefully the development team can get things stabilized, because this is extrememly frustrating and is killing productivity. Word to the wise…don’t create new versions unless it makes your software better.

Questionable at best (v4.9.1)

I would pass on this app. I purchased it on the App Store because I thought it would at least work. This is not the case. I would return this app if I could. It is not stable, does not work well with Amazon S3, and is complicated to use. Keep looking...

Previous version worked, 4.9 does not.

I tried Cyberduck and decided to buy license. I was using the previous version and everything was wrking fine. Sorry to say, I downloaded version 4.9 and nothing worked properly. I uninstalled version 4.9 and reinstalled the previous version and now everything it working great again. I plan to download the next version and I hope that it works. I love the product, when the version works.

Great app, one bug returns

I’ve been using cyberduck for years. It’s my fast & simple go-to app for uploading print files, podcasts and more. An old bug has returned, though. when I right-click on a file and select “copy URL”, the HTTP URL shows the FTP URL.

Time to pony up

I, like so many others, have been using this app for free for years. I’ve been thinking for a while I should click on the “donate” button, and now that I am re-downloading software onto a new laptop I figure it’s time to pony up! I’ve always have good success with Cyberduck, use it all the time as a freelancer.

Error 530 after working fine.

Have been using this product for years then all of a sudden error 530 cant connect. Lame Had the free version bought the paid version and still doesnt work

Great FTP Client, used for 10+ years

Decided to go ahead and get the App Store version of Duck - we've been happy users of this application for 10 years, back to the days of PowerPC and Tiger.

Didn’t work and Support is Non-Existent

First the program does not work as I had problems connecting to simple ftp servers that even the browser could do. After trying to look through their Support options which are a joke, I tried to submit a ticket and it rejected it as SPAM due to my user name even though I was logged into my account in their system. I tried to e-mail them about this and it came back rejected/bounced. This program is a SCAM, hopefully I can get my money back

Substandard cloud integrations

No Dropbox support, cloud containers such as Amazon and Rackspace frequently fail on upload requeueing all transfers instead of only failed or pending transfers, difficult to cancel transfers, and generally nonexistent support.

Horrible

I had been very happy with the product so finally purchased it and now it will not run at all!

don’t do the update

THis was great until i did the upload yesterday. Now the program won’t work.

Sadly the free one worked but the paid on didn

I wanted to see this workout but on OS X 10.10 it would lock up when trying to open a remote file.

Garbage

I purchased this software without looking into because Godaddy generates configuration files automatically for it. The software repeatedly crashes upon opening the preferences pane, has extreme diffiuclty in establishing and maintaining a connection, and has very un-Mac interface and design concept. I have deleted it and suggest you avoid it!

How can I get a refund?

This version crashes constantly when you click preferences and isn’t intuitive to use. Avoid. I really want a refund.

Nothing like PC version - Buggy

Help! Please fix! Uploads work on Amazon Cloud but things like a simple renaming of a file or moving it between cloud folders takes 60-90 seconds!!!!

Current version is buggy

This has been my goto ftp app for years. I’m a full time web developer so I’m constantly moving files around. As you can imagine, my FTP program is a crucial key to my workflow. This latest version of Cyberduck is riddled with UI issues, and connection problems. For example, the UI buttons to confirm or cancel a transfer might not show up, or the UI element that allows you to add a new server wont appear unless you restart the program. I’m also experiencing frequent connection drops when trying to upload large numbers of files. I often have to zip the files, upload the single file to the server, and then extract them. That sort of thing rarely ever happened with previous version. I might come back to this program again in the future if these issues are addressed, but for now I’m uninstalling and looking for a new client.

S3 functionality - poor at best

I've only used this for it's Amazon S3 support, but it's like trying to drive a car if you only have crab claws for hands. Creating a folder is like a guessing game: Where will it appear this time? Files download and "overwrite", only to find out nothing happened at all. No indication that a file upload worked or not, so you have to refresh (which refreshes the entire visible resource list and takes a while). Bookmarks seem to work when they feel like it, renaming a bookmark makes a dialog box appear behind the rest of the UI so the application will only respond to the escape key. To rename a bookmark you have to "shuffle" the main window around and keep trying to open the dialog until it decides to appear somewhere visible. I can't wait to finish writing this so I can uninstall the app.

not working and no support

Paid for and download a couple of days ago. Able to connect to sight not not uplaod aor download. Admitedly this may be a problem with Wifi or anti viures but no reply for support is not right.

Unusable with S3

Attempting to authenticate with S3 on Yosemite causes the app to crash. Since S3 is the only thing I planned to use Cyberduck for, I'd like my money back.

Best FTP Tool for the MAC

I’ve been using CyberDuck for many years and it’s one of those little tools you cannot live without. Don’t be fooled by the simple and intuitive design of the app, because this FTP client can handle anything you throw at it. Kudos to the developer for creating such a great app!

Simple Yet Powerful

I’ve been using CyberDuck for years. I finally decided to buy a copy to thank the developers for making such a great app. CyberDuck is an easy to use but powerful FTP client. I use it daily as a web developer for installing and updating client sites, as well as with Amazon S3.

Was my die-hard stand-by for many years.

Recently, however, on many servers, it has started failing to list directories or save files after several minutes of inactivity, causing me to close the FTP window and any files I was working on and start a new session in a new Cyberduck window. This is quite frustrating. I’ve now been using Yummy FTP and Transmit happily without these problems.

Still great

This FTP client has a great combination of visual work flow and connection options.

Update Broke Rackspace Cloud Connect

4.5.1 breaks file listing if connecting to Rackspace Cloud (verified with Rackspace IT). Will list directories within containers, but will not list files. Please fix. Tested in OS X 10.9.4.

What happened after that last update?

I run the update, now I can’t SFTP in. Not cool. If you’re not going to transfer settings at least provide some guidance on your blog when these issues occur. Sorry, I don’t want to waste time figuring out how to get it to work. Switching to Fugu — I just verified that it works.

Still Awesome

I almost submitted a negative review on this software- because after the update, it was having difficulty finding the right keys for connecting to my servers. Once I got under the hood a bit, and switched a few things around, it’s working again, and still as awesome as ever. Overall, it’s a very easy to use and painless GUI for all of my FTP and SFTP needs!

Consitant failure - Unreliable

Everytime I try uploading, I get an error message at the end. The stop button doesn't seem to do anything. I think i've paid for this app twice. Wish it would just work.

Bugged

I'm a long time Cyberduck user but after recently updating twice there's an issue that has halted my productivity. It's always worked before now but I cannot continue to recommend it and in fact I have switched clients.

It’s okay. But no split screen?

It’s a well made software but one thing that I really disliked about this software is that you CANNOT split the screen and this is terrible! I only paid foir this because it has support for retina display when FileZilla does not. Anyway, I’ll keep using FileZilla even without the retina support because it’s more intuitive and usable. I don’t get the usage of the full screen icon on this app as long as you can not see nothing more than your connection there. The idea of using the full screen is to provide a better UX and if you have to have Finder.app opened when using it than it’s just useless

Powerful and pretty easy to use

If you FTP to a few places, you’ll want this. I also have a few other FTP programs, but this is the one I use most.

Now fixed

Launch issue is now fixed. Updating review.

Where’s the support for Mavericks? FIX IT

What’s the deal? Not working in mavericks, where is the support! Fix it; you’ve had weeks
